The number 1 course you can play in Illinois. What a great challenge from any tee. But think first..ask pro shop what tee to play based on your handicap. You can always go to the 'tips' and look at what the pros play for the Illinois Open. Over 7100 yards.

We played late in the season and were the only golfers on the course for our entire round. The steep price point keeps a lot of casual weekend golfers away, so pace of play is never an issue. If you play the right tees, you will have a very enjoyable round, but it is a challenging course. Fairways are wide, but you rarely have a flat lie. Greens are lightning fast. Service is absolutely top-notch. I'd definitely recommend playing here at least once/year, but for much less money, you can play about 20 miles north at Thunderhawk, or if you don't mind the road-trip, head out to The General at Eagle Ridge in Galena. Both are comparable.

Great golf, but very expensive. A bit shaggy if you get away from the fairways. Nationwide Tour stop, so plenty of challenges. Play the right tees for your game, or plan to have a big score. A country club like experience. Treat yourself for special ocasions

Great course. Well maintained. Expensive. Abundant fescue grasses catch many shots and slow play, unless you are very straight off tee.
